Who's Helping US Out?

As a church, we believe that we can do more together than we can alone. The mission of God is far too urgent and the cost of failure far too high for us to attempt to tackle the task of starting a new church by ourselves. Knowing this, we choose to partner with other like-minded organizations and individuals that can help us fill in the gaps that may exist in our resourcing, experience, and manpower while we work to get off the ground. In short, these are the people that God has placed around us to help us realize the dream of seeing Declaration City Church established.

  • Send Network

As part of the North American Mission Board, The Send Network exists to push back lostness in North America. That purpose is accomplished through church planting in areas of greatest need. The Send Network is helping us by providing us with training, coaching, resources and care.

  • BRN

The Baptist Resource Network (BRN) of Pennsylvania/South Jersey is comprised of around 325 churches in the region. Each local church is autonomous and participates in BRN voluntarily for the purpose of working together to reach the world for Christ. The BRN exists to glorify God by fostering spiritual transformation for persons and communities with the Gospel.

  • FBC Greeneville

FBC Greeneville is our primary partner church. Prior to partnering with us, God had placed in the hearts of this congregation a desire to see a church planted in Mayfair, Philadelphia that would reach the lost with the gospel. FBC Greeneville is partnering with us by resourcing us financially, sending mission teams to help us serve the community and by providing care and committing to pray for us throughout the planting process.

Who Are We helping out?

In the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20), Jesus invites us to be a part of his mission of growing the family of God by extending his message of freedom to people all over the earth. Even though we are still in our infancy as a church, we are able to have a tangible global impact from right here in Philadelphia through our missions partnerships. We are initially supporting our missionary partners with prayer and what financial blessing we can offer at this stage. In the future, we plan give to these and other missions efforts through prayer, significant funding, resourcing, and sending people to be a part of missions and church planting locally and globally.

  • MATT AND ANDREA BOYD: PORTLAND, OREGON

Matt grew up near Charlotte, NC and met his wife Andrea on a missions trip to Argentina. After Matt earned an M.Div and an M.A. from Southeastern Seminary, the Boyds served as church planters from 2011-2014 in South Asia. During their time overseas they saw numerous reproducing churches planted in what is considered the least reached area of the world. The Boyds recently relocated their family to Portland, Oregon to plant SojournPDX. Home to 2.6 million people, Time Magazine recently called Portland the least religious city in the United States.

  • DANIEL AND TARA RICE: TOKYO, JAPAN

Home to 33.2 million people, Tokyo is the largest city on earth. Of those 33.2 million, only 1% would claim to be Christian with 0.5% or fewer being evangelicals. Daniel and Tara are moving into the midst of this vast mission field to serve and reach the people of Tokyo with the gospel. Daniel previously spent two years in Tokyo as part of a missionary team where he worked to reach urban youth and young adults. The Rices are now preparing to move to Tokyo where they will serve a three year term as Daniel also works to complete his M.Div. studies with Southeastern Seminary while overseas.
